DEGENERATE ART ENSEMBLE
ANIMA MUNDI (2026)
I was asked to join DAE for this new work as a performer of the Marebito spirit. I have for years been witness to DAE’s creative contributions in the world of performance and sound. It was a joy to join this wild world and follow its story as we carved and shaped this new work.

Degenerate Art Ensemble presents Anima Mundi, a visually stunning avant-garde dance and live music work inspired by the realm of shadows and Japanese ghost stories, Anima Mundi explores the profound interconnection of all beings on our fragile planet. This poetic vision blends visceral embodied movement with innovative video projection and transforming sculptures that morph with the dancer’s body. The experience is heightened by live music featuring drums, hypnotic electronics, and a battery of acoustic sounds that fill the theater with vibrational energy. The work challenges human-centric perceptions, proposing that by honoring our animal senses and rebalancing feminine and masculine forces, we can foster more interdependent relationships with the natural world, elevating the often-devalued qualities of healing, mending, and nurturing. Degenerate Art Ensemble’s performance is surreal, visually heightened, rebellious, and defiant and has earned a faithful following of art obsessives, activists, and rebellious souls with their performances internationally.
